ICAI Commerce Wizard-2016

About Exam

The Commerce Talent Search Test called as Commerce Wizard -2016 is a diagnostic test that measures the concept understanding ability of a student. Unlike regular tests which try only to find out how much a child knows, this test measures how well a student has understood the concepts.

Eligibility & Registration of Students: The registration is open to the Students of appearing class IX/X/XI/XII examination. Students registered under open distance learning will also eligible for appearing in the aforesaid test. Candidates must fill the registration forms through the dedicated website, duly filled in and complete in all respects by the due date.

Registration Fees: ₹100/- per candidate

Registration with Late Fees after due date is over: ₹150/- per candidate

Registration Numbers: The registration numbers will be generated by means of the online resources.

EXAM STAGES

The Commerce Wizard will be conducted at two levels:

Level 1 Test: The first level of the test is organized through on-line arrangement. The candidate can appear in the aforesaid online test from his home or any convenient place through their Laptop/Desktop / Mobile.

Criteria for selecting Candidate from the Level-1 Test to Level-2 Test

  • i. Up to 50000 candidates appeared in Level-1 Test: 4000 candidates of each from IX & X and XI & XII will be shortlisted for Level-2 test
  • ii. More than 50000 candidates appeared in Level-1 Test: 4000 plus 2% of the candidates of each from IX & X and XI & XII appeared in excess of 50000 in level-1 test.

PAPER & PATTERN

Test Paper Pattern:

  •  The test will be conducted in English language only.
  •  Question papers are suitable for students of CBSE/ICSE or any other national boards or open schools and various state boards conducting Secondary/Senior Secondary Examination.
  •  Level 1 Test: There will be 100 questions (100 marks) objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions of 75 minutes duration, 25 questions (25 marks) from each section through on-line arrangement as follows:
  • I. For Class IX & X : Business Studies, Mathematics, Current Economic affair & Aptitude
  • II. For Class XI & XII: Business Mathematics, Economics, Fundamentals of Accounting & Aptitude for the students studying in class XI & XII.

There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. No Negative marking for un-attempted answers.

Level 2 Test: There will be 100 questions (100 marks) objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions of 90 minutes duration, 25 questions (25 marks) from each section by means paper & pencil test in the designated Centre as decided by the Test Management Committee for shortlisted candidates of level 1 as follows:

  • I. For Class IX & X: Business Studies, Mathematics, Current Economic affair & Aptitude
  • II. For Class XI & XII: Business Mathematics, Economics, Fundamentals of Accounting & Aptitude for the students studying in class XI & XII.

There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. No Negative marking for un-attempted answers.

Every candidate appeared for the First level test will get a participation certificate.

  • 1st Rank holder will be awarded with Rs 1,00,000/- if multiple winners are there, the prize amount will be shared by them. If more than 20 joint rank holders for the same, the awardee will at least awarded with the cash prize of Rs 5,000/- along with a certificate.

  • Next Top 1000 will be awarded with consolation Award will be awarded worth Rs 500/- along with a certificate

  • Participation Certificate will be given to each participant appeared for the second level test.

  • Note: In case of Multiple awardees of 1st & 2nd rank, if the cash prize to be awarded to the first rank holders is less than by 2nd rank holders, the decision of the cash award to be awarded to 1st & 2nd Rank holders will be decided by the test management Committee.

CLAT 2016 Cutoff Ranks will help candidates in drawing a fair idea of the Lowest Rank Required to Qualify for the counselling process of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in the respective NLU.

CLAT 2016 Cutoff Ranks has been determined by Fourth & Final Allotment List of each NLU published by CLAT Conducting NLU on CLAT Website on 1st July, 2016.

Here in this article, We have stated Category-wise and NLU-wise Cut Off Ranks prepared in accordance with the 4th Counseling list issued by CLAT Conducting Authority,with the help of which, students can find out the Cut-Off Rank required to enter the desired NLU.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS OF FOURTH ALLOTMENT LIST

1. In the 4th List issued by CLAT office, Some students who have already taken admission and deposited fee at one NLU have been shifted to some other NLU as per their merit cum preference.

2. Such shifted students need not to deposit fee at the Re-Allocated NLU except the difference of fee, if any.

3. The fee of such students is to be transferred to the NLU to which such student is shifted and got admission, by the NLU in which such students were first admitted, along with original documents, if retained at the time of admission.

4. The amount of Rs. 50,000 paid as Counselling Fee shall be transferred to concerned NLU by the CLAT Office after confirmation of the admission of such students.

5. The transferred students are to produce the fee receipt issued by the NLU and also the receipt issued by the CLAT office for Counselling fee, at the NLU where these students are taking final admission.

6. The students whose names appeared fresh in the Fourth Allotment List are required to pay the entire fee directly at the allotted NLU.

CS EXECUTIVE (GROUP I) JUNE 2016 QUESTION PAPER ANALYSIS

CS EXECUTIVE (JUNE-2016) GROUP-I QUESTION PAPER ANALYSIS

ICSI had recently conducted CS EXECUTIVE Exam in the month of June 2016 from 1-Jun-2016 to 9-Jun-2016. CS Executive is the Second Stage of the professional Exam of Company Secretaries. To clear CS Executive Exam, a candidate needs to score minimum 40% in Each Individual Paper and Minimum 50% Aggregate in all Papers of the Group.

ICSI conducts CS Executive Exam in Offline Mode (Paper pencil Mode) twice in a year i.e. in the month of June and December. CS Executive Group I consists of 4 Papers : (i) Company Law (ii) Cost and Management Accounting (iii) Economics & Commercial Law and (iv) Tax Laws & Practice. Paper Pattern of CS Executive Group-I are as follows:-

  • Cost & Management Accounting and Tax Laws are OMR Based Exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 Mark each to be done in 3 Hours Each.
  • In OMR Based Exams, there is Negative Marking in the ratio of 1: 4, i.e. deduction of one (1) mark for every four (4) wrong answers.
  • Remaining 2 Papers – Company Law & Economics and Commercial Law would continue to be examined through Descriptive Pattern.

PAPER 1 – COMPANY LAW (321)

Company Law is the 1st Paper of Group-I of CS Executive Level. It is an Subjective / Descriptive Type Question Paper consists of 6 Questions (some have Options) to be done in 3 Hours.

This Paper majorly Consists of 6 questions which is divided into 30 sub-parts. Student have to attempt all 6 questions. If we consider Question Paper into 30 sub-parts, then as per our analysis, 15 questions were of EASY and 15 questions were of MODERATE Level. It will get more clear from the below given Chart:

As per our Analysis, 70 Questions were of EASY, 15 Questions were of MODERATE and 15 Questions were of DIFFICULT Level. As All Questions Carry Equal Marks, so there will be only One Chart explaining Question-Wise & Marks-Wise Difficulty Breakup as given below:

However, If we talk about Chapter-wise Analysis, then Larger Density of Questions i.e. 58% were from below given 4 Chapters of the Module and Other 42% Questions were from Remaining 15 Chapters of the Module :

Correction Window for Change of Centre / Medium in CA CPT (June-2016) Exam

Chartered Accountancy (CA) students were expected to exercise reasonable care while furnishing the details while filling Exam form for CA CPT (June-2016). However, In case of any error which is noted after submission of the Exam Form – ICAI opened a Correction Window wherein students are allowed to change their Centre/Medium opted, and the Changes received through this window have been reflected before the release of Admit Cards.

CHANGE / MODIFICATION IN CENTRE / MEDIUM OPTED

In unavoidable cases, students may seek change/modification in the CA CPT (June-2016) Examination Enrollment Status by submitting a Formal Online Request with ICAI during the period from 4th May 2016 to 10th May 2016 (till 5:30 PM).

After the said date & time, the online facility will be deactivated and requests for change in examination enrollment status will not be entertained.

This online facility will be available to the candidates, in 2 Separate Sessions.

  • The first Opportunity (called “Correction Window”) will be Free of Cost and,
  • The Second Opportunity (called “Corrections with fee-Window”) will be for a Fee of Rs 1000/-.

IMPORTANT POINTS ABOUT CORRECTION WINDOW

  1. Correction Window can be accessed from ICAI Website.
  2. It is not for fresh submission of exam forms and is meant only for correction of errors if any, in the exam forms already submitted.
  3. Candidates will be permitted to enter changes if any, in any of the following two fields only:
      • CITY opted
      • MEDIUM opted

  • VERIFY DETAILS : After Successful Login, you will see your details on the Correction Window which you have submitted in your Online Examination Form. VERIFY your details and if you do not found any mistake / error in your details then, CLICK on NO CHANGE REQUIRED and if you found any mistake in your details then, CLICK on CHANGES REQUIRED.
  • MAKE CORRECTIONS (If Any) : When you Click on Changes Required Button, ‘Apply for Changes‘ page will appear. Carefully makes changes you want to make. (Note: Candidate can make modification only related to ‘Medium Opted’ and/or ‘Centre or City of Exam’).
  • UPLOAD HANDWRITTEN APPLICATION : After making necessary changes in the Correction Window, Candidates are required to write an Application to ICAI for making changes in the CPT Exam Details and Upload the Scanned Copy of that Handwritten Application on the Correction Window (at the space provided). Please  Note, that, Scanned image of the application should be between 8 to 200 KB.
  • SUBMIT CHANGES : After making necessary changes, recheck the details carefully and once verified, Submit the details by clicking on SUBMIT Button. After submission of request, you will see the Successful Submission Confirmation on the screen. Please Note that Corrections once submitted can not be changed.

Note : Once you have used Correction Window (Free) to make changes in your details, you will not be able to make any corrections further at Free of Cost. If still you want to make any more corrections, you need to choose “Corrections with fee-Window” and fee to Rs. 1000/- needs to be paid for the corrections.

  • ADMIT CARDS : Admit cards will be issued based on the examination application form and the correction received till the Correction Window closes.

ABOUT COMPANY SECRETARY (CS)

Company Secretary (CS) is a professional Course conducted and regulated by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) which is a statutory body constituted under an act of Parliament of India i.e. Company Secretaries Act, 1980.

To become Company Secretary, you needs to clear 3 stages :

⇒  First Stage (Exam) of CS Course is CS Foundation. It is an entry route in CS Course for XII appearing or XII appeared/passed students. CS Foundation exam will be held twice in a year (June and December).

⇒  Second Stage (Exam) of CS Course is CS Executive. After passing CS Foundation or completing the graduation (First stage for those who want to do CS Course after graduation), a student can register with ICSI for CS Executive Program. CS Executive exam will be held twice in a year i.e. in June and December. It comprises of 2 Groups with 7 Subjects (Group-I : 4 Subjects &  Group-II : 3 Subjects).

⇒  Third or Last Stage (Exam) of CS Course is CS Professional. A student can be admitted to Professional Program on passing the Executive Stage and only on completion of 9 months from passing the Executive Program. CS Professional exam will be held twice in a year i.e. in June and December and it comprises of 3 groups (each having 3 subjects).

CS Various Cut off Dates for 2016

With effect from 1st January 2015, all services relating to Company Secretaries (CS) students had been made available only through Online mode as announced by ICSI.

Therefore, a candidate seeking either Admission / Registration in any stage / program of CS viz. Foundation, Executive or Professional; Enrollment applications for respective examinations or applications for claiming paper-wise exemptions, etc shall be required to apply online through ICSI official website.

Accordingly, ICSI has specified the following cut-off dates / Last dates for various online services for CS Foundation, Executive and Professional students for the year 2016 :

ABOUT CLAT-2016

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is an All India Entrance Examination conducted by 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) on rotational basis which provide a list of candidates on the basis of ‘merit-cum-preference’ to each University for admission to their Undergraduate (LL.B) and Postgraduate (LL.M) degree programs.

CLAT-2016 will be conducted by  the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab for 2252 seats in UG Program and 632 seats in PG Program. Here, in this article, we have mentioned about the syllabus and Paper Pattern of CLAT 2016 (U.G / P.G.) Examinations.

CLAT Paper Pattern & Syllabus

The candidates, before applying for CLAT 2016 must understand the paper pattern and syllabus of CLAT Exam. This will help students in preparing for the exam as well as attempting the exam paper accordingly.

1. For U.G. Programme (LL.B Course)

  • Maximum Marks : 200 Marks.
  • Duration of CLAT-2016 Examination : 02:00 Hours.
  • Number of Questions : 200 Multiple Choice Questions of 1 mark each.
  • Negative Marking : 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Questions will be asked from the following subjects and the number of marks for each subject is given below:

CLAT 2016 UG Syllabus

(i) English including Comprehension

English section will test the candidates proficiency in English based on comprehension passages and grammar in the comprehension section. Candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

(ii) General Knowledge and Current Affairs

General knowledge will be tested on the general awareness including static general knowledge. Questions on current affairs will test candidates on their knowledge of national and international current affairs.

(iii) Mathematics (Numerical Ability)

This section will test candidate’s knowledge on elementary mathematics, i.e. math’s taught up to 10th Standard.

⇒  Arithmetic (Number Theory): Number Systems, Surds and Indices, Square Roots, Fractions and Decimals, HCF and LCM, Simplification, Approximations, Ratio and Proportion, Average and Logarithms, Interest, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Partnership and Discounts, Areas and Volumes.

⇒  Commercial Maths: Interest, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Partnership and Discounts.

⇒  Mensuration: Areas and Volumes.

(iv)  Legal Aptitude

This section will test candidate’s interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability.

(v) Logical Reasoning

The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It may include a variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

2. For P.G. Programme (LL.M Course)

  • Maximum Marks : 150 Marks.
  • Duration of CLAT-2016 Examination : 02:00 Hours.
  • Number of Questions : 150 Multiple Choice Questions of 1 mark each.
  • Negative Marking : 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Questions will be asked from the following subjects and the number of marks for each subject is given below :

  • Registration Process Starts – From 1st January 2016
  • Registration Process Ends –  31st March 2016.

  • CLAT 2016 Examination Date & Time – 8th May 2016 (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

PAST PRESIDENT CHINUBHAI R. SHAH’s SILVER MEDAL AWARD

Resonance CLPD has once again added one more star to its glory as one of our student, GIRISH NAGAR, had been awarded by ICSI with Past President Chinubhai R.
