About Exam

The Commerce Talent Search Test called as Commerce Wizard -2016 is a diagnostic test that measures the concept understanding ability of a student. Unlike regular tests which try only to find out how much a child knows, this test measures how well a student has understood the concepts.

Eligibility & Registration of Students: The registration is open to the Students of appearing class IX/X/XI/XII examination. Students registered under open distance learning will also eligible for appearing in the aforesaid test. Candidates must fill the registration forms through the dedicated website, duly filled in and complete in all respects by the due date.

Registration Fees: ₹100/- per candidate

Registration with Late Fees after due date is over: ₹150/- per candidate

Registration Numbers: The registration numbers will be generated by means of the online resources.

EXAM STAGES

The Commerce Wizard will be conducted at two levels:

Level 1 Test: The first level of the test is organized through on-line arrangement. The candidate can appear in the aforesaid online test from his home or any convenient place through their Laptop/Desktop / Mobile.

Criteria for selecting Candidate from the Level-1 Test to Level-2 Test

• i. Up to 50000 candidates appeared in Level-1 Test: 4000 candidates of each from IX & X and XI & XII will be shortlisted for Level-2 test
• ii. More than 50000 candidates appeared in Level-1 Test: 4000 plus 2% of the candidates of each from IX & X and XI & XII appeared in excess of 50000 in level-1 test.

PAPER & PATTERN

Test Paper Pattern:

•  The test will be conducted in English language only.
•  Question papers are suitable for students of CBSE/ICSE or any other national boards or open schools and various state boards conducting Secondary/Senior Secondary Examination.
•  Level 1 Test: There will be 100 questions (100 marks) objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions of 75 minutes duration, 25 questions (25 marks) from each section through on-line arrangement as follows:
• I. For Class IX & X : Business Studies, Mathematics, Current Economic affair & Aptitude
• II. For Class XI & XII: Business Mathematics, Economics, Fundamentals of Accounting & Aptitude for the students studying in class XI & XII.

There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. No Negative marking for un-attempted answers.

Level 2 Test: There will be 100 questions (100 marks) objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions of 90 minutes duration, 25 questions (25 marks) from each section by means paper & pencil test in the designated Centre as decided by the Test Management Committee for shortlisted candidates of level 1 as follows:

• I. For Class IX & X: Business Studies, Mathematics, Current Economic affair & Aptitude
• II. For Class XI & XII: Business Mathematics, Economics, Fundamentals of Accounting & Aptitude for the students studying in class XI & XII.

There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. No Negative marking for un-attempted answers.

Note: In case of Multiple awardees of 1st & 2nd rank, if the cash prize to be awarded to the first rank holders is less than by 2nd rank holders, the decision of the cash award to be awarded to 1st & 2nd Rank holders will be decided by the test management Committee.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPEARING IN CA-CAMPUS PLACEMENT PROGRAMME

	Clearance of CA Final Exam	Completion of Articleship / GMCS Course	Submission of Application for  ICAI Membership*
1	May-2016	Completing their articleship and GMCS latest by 31st October, 2016	15th November , 2016
2	Nov-2015, May-2015 or whose CA Final results were declared in revaluation / reverification after 19th February, 2016.	Completing their articleship or GMCS between 1st May, 2016, and 31st October, 2016 and have not applied in earlier Campus Placement Programme.

Note: In the cases where the candidates clearing their CA Final Examination in May, 2016 and have completed their Articleship and GMCS by 31^st October, 2016  but have not attained the age of 21 years shall not be eligible to participate in the Campus Placement Programme August-September, 2016. However, on providing an undertaking that they shall be obtaining the Membership of the Institute immediately on attaining the requisite age, the candidate may be permitted by the CPABI Secretariat, on request through mail.

ICAI CAMPUS PLACEMENT ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

CATEGORY 1 : Candidates who have qualified CA final in May-2016 examination and are eligible.

• Step 1 : Initial Registration – Click on www.placement.icai.org/new_cand.asp?typeofcandidate=F and generate your password after filling up the initial registration details.

• Step 2 : Click on www.placement.icai.org/ca_login.asp?typeofcandidate=F and logged in by giving your CA final roll number as user name and password which you have chosen earlier .Fill the registration form which is divided into six parts.

• Step 3 : Submit your form and make the online payment.

• Step 4 : After which you will receive a centre code like DEL-..,MUM-..etc that means you have successfully completed initial steps.

• Step 5 : After the successful completion of registration, candidates should take the print out of the Print Profile and the Photo Identity Card which they are required to mandatorily carry while visiting for the Orientation programme and Campus Interviews.

CATEGORY 2 : Candidates who have qualified CA final before May, 2016 examination and are eligible.

• Step 1 : Preliminary registration:  Click on a separate link given on home page of www.placement.icai.org/ for candidates who have qualified CA final before May, 2016 examination and fill the details asked for to verify the credentials.

• Step 2 : You will receive an email and also announcement will be hosted on website confirming the status with new roll number.

• Step 3 : Initial registration: Click on www.placement.icai.org/new_cand.asp?typeofcandidate=F and generate your password by filling new roll number received via email from CPABI Secretariat.

• Step 4 : Click on www.placement.icai.org/ca_login.asp?typeofcandidate=F and logged in by giving your CA final roll number as user name and password which you have chosen earlier .Fill the registration form which is divided into six parts.

• Step 5 : Submit your form and make the online payment.

• Step 6 : After which you will receive a centre code like DEL-..MUM-..etc that means you have successfully completed initial steps.

ADVICES TO THE CANDIDATES

1. Where the candidates have qualified in May, 2016 final examination but their articleship and/or GMCS is not completing on 31^st October, 2016 they shall be permitted to appear in the Campus Placement Programme to be held in February-March, 2017.

2. Organisations participating in the Campus Placement Programme prefer that the candidates selected by them should be ready to join the organisations immediately and should not claim that their GMCS / Articleship is pending and requires more time to join.

3. Candidates should not select a Campus Interview Centre which isfar away from their place of residence because companies at chosen centre may decide the posting location of the candidate presuming that they belong to that particular Campus Interview Centre area.(In other words such candidate may face problem relating to location of the posting).

4. It is also advised to the candidates that they should opt the same Centre for the Orientation Programme and the Campus Interviews as in the above schedule.

5. Before applying for Campus Placement programme kindly make sure that you are in genuine need of a Job. Please keep in mind that any delay or refusal, after being selected or accepting any offer, may cause job loss to other needy candidates.

CA NOV-2016 EXAM FORM

Students can fill CA IPCC or CA Final Nov-2016 Exam form either ONLINE through ICAI Website or OFFLINE (Physical Form). One can purchase the Physical Exam Form from any of the ICAI branch office on payment of Rs. 1,000/- application form fees. However, Cost of purchasing Exam Application form (Rs. 1,000/-) shall not be charged if, the application is filled Online.

CA IPCC and CA Final exam form can be purchased or filled Online from 5th August, 2016 Onwards and the last date of submitting the CA IPCC and CA Final Exam form, so as to reach the Deputy Secretary (Examination), New Delhi, shall not be not later than 26th August, 2016. However, Exam form applications will be accepted till 2nd September, 2016 with late fee of Rs. 600/-. 

PAYMENT OF EXAM FORM FEES

OFFLINE PAYMENT – Payment of CA Exam Fees can be made Through Demand Draft. The Demand Drafts may be of Any Scheduled Bank and should be drawn in favour of ‘The Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India‘, Payable at New Delhi Only.

ONLINE PAYMENT – The Candidates who apply Online for CA IPCC and CA Final Exam at  ICAI Website  from 5th August, 2016 to 26th August, 2016 can make ONLINE Payment of Exam Fees by using Either VISA or MASTER Credit/Debit Card.

In its endeavor to provide quality Accounting, Finance, Tax, Audit and Management Consultancy personnel to Recruiting entities, the Committee has successfully organised one more round of Campus Placement Programme for the Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants which was organised at 21 (6 bigger and 15 smaller) centres across the country in two phases, where 5,961 candidates registered to avail themselves of placement facility out of which 4,837 Candidates got Shortlisted for the interviews. CA Course 2016: Revised Scheme of Education and Training

REVISED SCHEME FOR CA COURSE

ICAI has recently released a New Notification about “CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY New Course Scheme”. In this Notification, ICAI Proposed New Scheme / Syllabus For CA CPT, CA IPCC and CA FINAL Exams. However, It has not been clarified that from when this New Scheme will be applicable.

In this Article, We will try to clear the whole concept about New Scheme for CA Course. Various Stages to become a Chartered Accountant are shown below :-

ROUTE I : FOUNDATION COURSE ROUTE

Steps Required to become CA through Foundation Course Route are:-

1. Register for Foundation : Register with Board of Studies (BoS) after appearing in Class XII till June 30/Dec 31.
2. Foundation Exam : Appear for Foundation Examination after passing Class XII Examination. The first Foundation Exam can be taken in November/May, as applicable, following passing of Class XII examination.
3. Register for CA Intermediate : Qualify Foundation Course, Register with the BoS for the Second Stage of CA i.e. Intermediate Course and Complete 8 Months of Study.
4. Appear and Pass in Either or Both Groups of Intermediate Course.
5. IT & Soft Skills Training : Successfully complete Four Weeks of Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before commencement of the Practical Training.
6. 3 Years of Practical Training : Register for 3 years Practical Training on passing Either or Both the Groups of Intermediate.
7. Register for CA Final : After qualifying Both the Groups of Intermediate Course, Register for CA-Final Course.
8. CA Final Exams : After completing Practical Training and Advanced ICITSS, appear for CA Final Examination and become a CA.

#Note: ICAI has decided in principle the above mentioned Scheme. However, the scheme will be notified in the official Gazette in due course.

ROUTE II : DIRECT ENTRY ROUTE

ICAI Allows Commerce Graduates / Post-Graduates (with minimum 55% marks) and Non-Commerce Graduates (with Minimum 60% Marks) and Intermediate level passed students of Institute of Company Secretaries of India and Institute of Cost Accountants of India to enter directly to CA Intermediate Course. Steps required to be undertaken to become CA through Direct Entry Route are :-

1. Register for CA Intermediate : Register with BoS for the CA-Intermediate Course (Provisional registration is allowed for student doing Final year of Graduation).
2. IT & Soft Skills Training : Successfully complete Four Weeks of Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS) before commencement of the Practical Training.
3. 3 Years of Practical Training : Register for 3 years Practical Training.
4. CA Intermediate Exams : Appear in CA Intermediate Exam after Nine Months of Practical Training.
5. Register for CA Final : After qualifying Both the Groups of Intermediate Course, register for CA-Final Course.
6. CA Final Exams : After completing Practical Training and Advanced ICITSS, appear for CA Final Examination and become a CA.

ICAI has published CA-IPCC / FINAL Admit Cards for May 2016 Aspirants. ICAI had already announced CA-IPCC / Final Time Table (Date Sheet) for May 2016 Exams.

CA IPCC / FINAL ADMIT CARD DOWNLOAD

Admit Cards in respect of candidates admitted to the CA-Intermediate (IPC) and Final May 2016 Examination, with their photographs and signatures on them, are hosted on  www.icai.nic.in

Candidates may print their admit cards from the Above Website.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD ADMIT CARD

• Visit ICAI Website : ADMIT CARD DOWNLOAD

• Enter following details:
  • Student Registration Number or Bar Code Number printed on the Examination Form
  • Personal Identification Number (PIN)
  • Security Code
• Click Submit Button.
• Download the Official Admit Card which also contains Time table & Acknowledgement Record and Instruction to candidates for appearing in the Exam.
• Print it and Save it for Entry in Exam Hall.

Points To Remember :

1. PIN is the four digit number of the candidate’s choice entered by him/her the relevant column in the Examination form.
2. Physical Admit Cards are being sent by Post to only to those who had submitted Physical Examination Forms (i.e. OMR). For those, who had submitted Exam Forms Online will not be sent Physical Admit Cards.
3. Physical Admit Cards sent by Post as well as those printed from the website are valid for Admission to the Examination.

POSTPONEMENT of CA FINAL (May-2016) Exams (in Tamil Nadu, Kerela and Pondicherry)

ICAI has released CA Exam Time Table for May 2016 Exams. CA Final May 2016 exam will start from 2nd May, 2016 (Monday) and CA-IPCC May 2016 exam will start from 3rd May, 2016 (Tuesday). To Know More About Date sheet for CA IPCC and CA FINAL May 2016 exams.

Paper-8 (Indirect Tax laws) of CA FINAL May-2016 Exam which is scheduled on 16th May, 2016 (Monday) has been postponed in the states of TAMIL NADU, KERELA and PONDICHERRY (India) due to General Elections of the Legislative Assembly and rescheduled to 22nd May, 2016 (Sunday).

The said exam will now be held in the said States, on 22nd May, 2016 (Sunday) at the same venue(s) and at the same timings i.e. 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (IST).

Cities where CA Final exam will be held on 22nd May 2016 are as follows:

a) TAMIL NADU: Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Salem, Sivakasi, Tiruchirapalli,   Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Tuticorin and Vellore Centre(s).

b) PONDICHERRY and;

c) KERELA: Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kannur, Kollam, Kottyam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur Centre(s).

NOTE: 

1. Admit Cards already issued for CA FINAL students would remain valid for the Rescheduled date.
2. CA FINAL will be held as per schedule on 16th May, 2016 in all cities, other than those mentioned above.

ICAI SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR CA STUDENTS

To recognize and promote Meritorious performance in the CA Examinations, ICAI provide scholarships to Meritorious candidates to pursue studies for the CA-IPCC and CA-Final Programme examinations of the Chartered Accountancy course.

The Board of Studies awards various Scholarships to students, namely, Merit, Merit-cum-Need based and Need-based and Weaker Sections TWICE in a year i.e. in the Month of APRIL and OCTOBER. The students are required to apply in prescribed Scholarship Application Form.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, VALUE & PERIOD OF SCHOLARSHIP

ICAI awards scholarships to CA Students as per below mentioned Criteria:

IMPORTANT NOTE : The  Payment of Scholarship is liable to be discontinued in each category in case the recipient does not pass the Intermediate (IPC) / Final Examination in the First Two Eligible chances.

HOW TO GET SCHOLARSHIP

• PROCUREMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM

Student Needs to submit duly filled in Scholarship Application to get Scholarship from ICAI. The Application Forms to Apply for Scholarship in the prescribed formats (Form No. 3 & 4) and Form No. 2 to claim further installments can be Downloaded from Here.

• SUBMISSION OF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM

CA IPCC / CA Final Exam Form Application Procedure

ICAI has released CA Exam Time Table for May 2016 Exams. CA-IPCC and CA-Final exams are conducted twice in a year in the month of May and November.

CA Final May 2016 exam will start from 2nd May, 2016 (Monday) and CA-IPCC May 2016 exam will start from 3rd May, 2016 (Tuesday). For the benefit of the students, ICAI has extended the facility of Online Submission of CA IPCC and CA Final Exam forms. 

CA IPCC and CA Final exam form can be purchased or filled Online from 3rd February, 2016 Onwards and the last date of submitting CA IPCC and CA Final Exam form, so as to reach the Deputy Secretary (Examination), New Delhi, shall not be not later than 24th Feb, 2016.

Procedure to Fill CA IPCC and Final (May-2015) Online Exam Form

STEP-I : CREATE LOGIN ACCOUNT

For Submitting CA IPCC / Final Exam form, the 1st step is to register yourself on ICAI Website. The following screen will come:

On this screen, Click on “New User! Please Click Here“. The following screen will come:

The student who had previously created Login Account for any Previous Exam will have to Re-Create the Account and authenticate the Registration Number (Eg: CRO0123456) with Date of Birth, VALID Email-id and Mobile No. Then, Click on SUBMIT Tab. With this, the student will receive Login-Id and Password on email ID / Mobile No. as provided.

Note : (In Case your Name is not displayed on entering your Registration number and Date of Birth, you can still create the login as a PROVISIONAL CANDIDATE by providing correct particulars. You need to submit the copy of registration letter and other relevant documents with your application form in case your login is created as PROVISIONAL CANDIDATE.)

STEP-II : LOGIN & PAY FEES ONLINE

Now, LOGIN with the Login-Id and Password you received in your email ID / on your Mobile No. as provided in Step 1 above.

After getting Logged in, a form will get open where the student needs to enter the required information like Exam Applied for, Examination Centre, details of Previous exam result, etc. Fill up the Online Application form carefully, confirm the particulars displayed in the Confirmation Page and Pay the Fees Online using Master /Maestro/ Visa Credit or Debit card.

STEP-III : TAKE PRINTOUT OF PDF FORM

After paying fees online, LOGIN again with the same credentials and Take print out of the PDF form. Check and ensure that Control Number, Bar code and Payment Particulars are appearing correctly in PDF before taking the print out.

STEP-IV : AFFIX PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE

On the Print out, Paste your Photograph, Sign the form using Black Ink Pen and get the form attested by Principal/Member of the Institute/gazetted officer, as mentioned in the form printed in Step 3 above.

STEP-V : SEND PRINTOUT TO ICAI

The Form Completed as per above given instructions shall be send to Deputy Secretary (Exams), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002 by Speed Post / Registered Post (not courier) without folding and Superscribing the envelope as “Exam Application Form – MAY, 2015”
