CS EXECUTIVE (JUNE-2016) GROUP-I QUESTION PAPER ANALYSIS
ICSI had recently conducted CS EXECUTIVE Exam in the month of June 2016 from 1-Jun-2016 to 9-Jun-2016. CS Executive is the Second Stage of the professional Exam of Company Secretaries. To clear CS Executive Exam, a candidate needs to score minimum 40% in Each Individual Paper and Minimum 50% Aggregate in all Papers of the Group.
ICSI conducts CS Executive Exam in Offline Mode (Paper pencil Mode) twice in a year i.e. in the month of June and December. CS Executive Group I consists of 4 Papers : (i) Company Law (ii) Cost and Management Accounting (iii) Economics & Commercial Law and (iv) Tax Laws & Practice. Paper Pattern of CS Executive Group-I are as follows:-
- Cost & Management Accounting and Tax Laws are OMR Based Exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 Mark each to be done in 3 Hours Each.
- In OMR Based Exams, there is Negative Marking in the ratio of 1: 4, i.e. deduction of one (1) mark for every four (4) wrong answers.
- Remaining 2 Papers – Company Law & Economics and Commercial Law would continue to be examined through Descriptive Pattern.

In this analysis, we have rated every question on a scale of 1 to 3. The ratings are done by Expert Faculty of Resonance CLPD. The individual Ratings are then averaged to calculate overall Difficulty level.

INTERPRETATION : Resonance Faculty Team feels that difficulty level of all the Subjects of Group-I of CS Executive (June-2016) are of More or Less similar difficulty level vis-a-vis Moderate Level, with Company Law is on slightly Tougher Side while Economics and Commercial Law seems to be little bit Easy amongst All 4 Subjects.

INDIVIDUAL PAPER-WISE ANALYSIS
PAPER 1 – COMPANY LAW (321)
Company Law is the 1st Paper of Group-I of CS Executive Level. It is an Subjective / Descriptive Type Question Paper consists of 6 Questions (some have Options) to be done in 3 Hours.
This Paper majorly Consists of 6 questions which is divided into 30 sub-parts. Student have to attempt all 6 questions. If we consider Question Paper into 30 sub-parts, then as per our analysis, 15 questions were of EASY and 15 questions were of MODERATE Level. It will get more clear from the below given Chart:

Question-Wise & Marks-Wise Difficulty Breakup of COMPANY LAW Paper
CHAPTER-WISE INTERPRETATION : As a Whole, Company Law Paper is of Moderate Difficulty Level. However, If we talk about Chapter-wise Analysis, then below given 5 Chapters from the Module shows Higher Density of Questions (Around 60%) and Other 40% Questions were from Remaining 29 Chapters of the Module :

Cost & Management Accounting is the 2nd Paper of Group-I of CS Executive Level. It is an OMR Based Exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 Mark each to be done in 3 Hours. In this paper, there is Negative Marking in the ratio of 1: 4, i.e. deduction of one (1) mark for every four (4) wrong answers.
As per our Analysis, 69 Questions were of EASY, 19 Questions were of MODERATE and 12 Questions were of DIFFICULT Level. As All Questions Carry Equal Marks, so below given Chart will explain Question-Wise & Marks-Wise Difficulty Breakup of the Paper:

This Paper majorly Consists of 6 questions which is divided into 27 sub-parts. Student have to attempt all 6 questions. If we consider Question Paper into 27 sub-parts, then as per our analysis, 20 Questions were of EASY and 7 Questions were of MODERATE Level. It will get more clear from the below given Chart:

CHAPTER-WISE INTERPRETATION : As a Whole, Economics & Commercial Law Paper is More of Easy Question Paper. Tax Laws & Practice is the 4th and Last Paper of Group-I of CS Executive Level. It is an OMR Based Exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 Mark each to be done in 3 Hours. In this paper, there is Negative Marking in the ratio of 1: 4, i.e. deduction of one (1) Mark for Every Four (4) Wrong Answers.
As per our Analysis, 70 Questions were of EASY, 15 Questions were of MODERATE and 15 Questions were of DIFFICULT Level. As All Questions Carry Equal Marks, so there will be only One Chart explaining Question-Wise & Marks-Wise Difficulty Breakup as given below:

CHAPTER-WISE INTERPRETATION : Tax Laws and Practice Paper is also of Moderate Difficulty Level. However, If we talk about Chapter-wise Analysis, then Larger Density of Questions i.e. 58% were from below given 4 Chapters of the Module and Other 42% Questions were from Remaining 15 Chapters of the Module :
